Nancy Chapman's '40 Ford

Construction Pictorial

Whoa...a tight fit on this one!

Now we'll fabricate a template that will bolt to the motor mount holes on the block of the Ford engine. A duplicate for the other side will be made and we'll fabricate the motor mounts using these plates.

The driver's side plate is bolted to the block.

Here's the backside of the firewall showing the transmission. All the metal flooring will be removed and replaced once the firewall is welded in.

With the body removed, we can weld up the new motor mounts and transmission mount.

Here's the tube motor mounts we fabricated to hold the engine in place.

Here's a front picture of the frame with the engine in place.

This picture shows the drop out transmission mount.

The rearend has been placed on the springs and the pinion angle set. Next we'll install the shock mounts.

This rear shock crossmember is being positioned in the chassis.
