Dick Clark's '34 (or is it '32?) Ford Sedan

Construction Pictorial

Dick Clark wanted a '32 Ford Sedan. But, there's no real good source for them anymore. So we're doing the next best thing. We got a '34 Sedan body from Redneck Street Rods and we're going to modify the front to take a '32 front end. The body just arrived from Redneck.

While we're waiting on the custom framerails, we'll start modifying the cowl. We start by grinding the gelcoat on the cowl and sides.

Now we have to build it up with fiberglass to get it flat.

Now the fiberglass is ground down.

The beltline is duplicated with fiberglass. No bondo was used for this step.

Here's the completed cowl.

The framerails are going in the jig to start the chassis buildup.

Both rails are in the jig.

First we need to get the chassis centerline. We do this by running a string from the center of the jig the entire length of the jig. Since these are custom rails, (34 in the back, pinched 32 in the front) we'll need to custom jig the front of the rails.

Now we'll cut the rear of the frame off and move it in.
