Lonnie Keith's '34 Ford Coupe

Lonnie had already installed the battery support and we are getting ready to install the Painless Wiring harness which will be the trunk mount version.

What are we gonna do with all these wires?

Because we're going to try to hide all the wires, and because the frame is a tube chassis, we had to figure a way to get the wires off the floor and run them through the tube to the front. This looks a little funky at this time but once it's painted black and we shrink tube the ends, you'll never notice it under the car.

Getting the wires up to the gauges can pose a problem on some bodies. We know you could just run the wires along the floor but this always ends up being a hassle with the upholsterer.

As you can see in this picture, we drilled a hole through the wood support above the door and routed out the pillar post to make way for the wires.

Here's a picture of the trunk area where the gas tank will be installed.

Lonnie had made an aluminum tank with a filler neck inside the trunk. We decided this wasn't a good idea so a new stainless tank was ordered from Rock Valley.

Here's the new tank installed and the filler neck and door to the outside.

The body will be removed several times until we get all the wiring routed and sorted out.

Here's a great shot of the underside of the tubular chassis.

What a great picture of this hi-tech chassis. As you can see it has a torque tube and the transmission in the rear. Where do these guys come up with this stuff? This is before Hot Rod TV!
