Construction Pictorial

We needed to extend the corners of the hood to match up with the grille shell and trim the front.

After grinding the welds, the hood fits the grille shell.

To make a good transition for the hood sides, we cut a section out of the body. We want the hood sides to be up next to the frame and eliminate the use of the inner fenders.

This picture gives you a better idea of where we're going with this. Now you can see the body line coming down from the cowl where the hood sides will be.

Here's what it looks like when finished.

To build the hood sides, we first started with a cardboard pattern and then transferred it to metal.

We rolled the bead in the bottom of the hood side and started the fitting process.

Here you can see how we rolled it under the grille shell.

And a look with the hood on.

Where the hood sides wrap around the grille shell, we made a finishing panel under the shell.
