Once
the cut has been made, a piece of plate steel is rolled to
match the contour of the hole. It is then clamped in place
and trimmed to fit the frame.
Here's
the finished c-notch after welding and grinding.
The
front of the frame is also notched to clear the front
axle.
The
frame is ready now to be welded up.
The
frame has been welded and shipped to Redneck to have the
new body fitted to the frame. Stay tuned...
The
body and frame have arrived from Redneck Street Rods. Now
the body will be separated from the frame and we will
continue the buildup of the frame.
Richard
and Johnathan use the fork lift to lift the body and
chassis onto the jig.
The
body and frame have returned to the frame shop where the
chassis buildup will continue.
It's
just like Christmas! Johnathan's unwrapping the goodies to be
installed on Dennis' car.
While
the body is still on the frame, this is a great time to
install the brake and clutch pedal assembly.
Johnathan
has the front suspension well underway. The chrome Pete
& Jakes I-Beam is located in the chassis on the axle
centerline of the jig and the bottom four bar brackets are
already connected.
The
9" Ford rear is positioned in the jig with the pinion
angle set and the rear shock crossmember has been welded
in.
