Dennis
Wargo paid us a quick visit last week to check out the
progress of his '32 Ford Coupe that's under construction
here at the shop. Dennis made the trip up from Florida in
his Corvette so we thought we'd let you see a picture of
Dennis with the cars.
The
wheels and tires arrived and the body/chassis package is
rolling with the wheels Dennis picked out for his car.
Johnathan
is getting the shifter ready to be installed.
With
the big block, distributor clearance is always tight.
We'll have to dimple the firewall to clear the
distributor.
After
careful measuring, Johnathan has the first part of the
floor cut for the shifter. A few more small cuts and he'll
have the clearance he needs for the shifter.
The
Hurst shifter is bolted up and the linkage installed.
The
initial cut is made in the firewall for distributor
clearance.
To
dimple the firewall for distributor clearance we use the
blandishing hammer to form a metal insert for the
firewall.
After
some trimming it'll be ready to install.
The
insert is glued in and the firewall will be blended in.
