The
plan is for the doors to automatically slide
backward and the headlights to extend through
the holes in the hood sides. And then slide back
into place when the headlights retract.
Once
we had the shape that we wanted, we took our
sample to a local machine shop and had a die
made and stamped the shape into the metal to
give clean rounded edges.
The
headlight door fits great in the hood
side.
Now
we need to get the frame in primer. The body has
been removed and sent to the paint shop.
Richard
sands the frame to remove any surface rust.
The
body is in the paint shop for some more work.
The
headers are a bit close and an indent was
required to gain clearance.
Charles
masks off the rear end so it can be primered.
