Ride of the Week

Ride of the Week | March 27th
Ken Taylor's 66' Mustang

Ken brought us this 66 Mustang and asked we handle just a couple things on it before we shipped it back to him so he could finish it off.

It involved us putting in a Heidts front and rear suspension along with almost every suspension add on Heidts manufactures. We also tucked a Johns Industries 9" Ford rear end in there for good measure.

Ken got her home and finished this bad boy up. Good times!

Tom Johnston's Cab Over

Tom brought us this Ford Cab Over with a 350 Chevy and 350 Transmission powering it. This truck also had a Toyota booster and master cylinder. Suffice it to say this wasn't working for Tom. He asked us to get er going with DIESEL POWER.

We swapped in a 07' Chevy Duramax Diesel with Allison 6 Speed Tranny.

All of this was sitting on a suburban chassis so we back halfed it and fabricated a new rear frame half.

This beauty cab over also features a 9" Ford rear end from Johns Industries, Inc., Strange 35 Spline Detroit Locker, new leaf springs from Detroit Springs, Griffin Thermal Products radiator, Vintage Air, Inc. AC and heat, RideTech suspension system, a custom fabricated intercooler and custom fuel tank.

Those of you on the Hot Rod Power Tour 2017 will be sure to see Tom burning up the road!

Mr. Brown's 34'

Something a little different than our typical Ride of the Week. We wanted to showcase the hotrods that we get to whatever stage is needed before sending back with our client.

In this particular hotrod, we were asked to get it to the point of being a roller to which, Mr. Brown could finish it off himself. We were very happy to oblige.

This car features a Street Rods by Michael chassis with a Johns Industries, Inc. 9" Ford rear, Pete and Jake's Hot Rod Parts rear suspension, Heidts Hot Rod & Muscle Car Parts super ride front suspension, a BeBops 34' body, a Griffin Thermal Products radiator, and American torque thrusts on BFGoodrich Tires

All in all, we got the job done and had another satisfied customer.

Loran Ashburner's 40' Packard

This sexy thing came to us ready for some serious love. We stripped her right down to bare metal and quickly realized we were in for some work. Parts were hard if not impossible to find so we ended up fabricating everything in house.

She features a brand new LS4 motor with a 4L80e Transmission, a Johns Industries, Inc. 9" ford rear end, Vintage Air, Inc. heat and ac, Lokar accessories, and a RideTech suspension on a custom built frame by my crew here at Street Rods by Michael, Inc.

Some of the finer details are the custom built gauges by our friends at Classic Instruments, custom built wheels by the Wheel Smith, Ididit steering column, and a LaCarra Steering wheel.

All the chrome work was done by Advanced Plating and the paint was a custom concocted PPG candy red.

This cruising down the road, looks IMPRESSIVE.

Lonnie Keith's 40 Ford

This is the second car we built for Lonnie. He brought us a red 40 Ford that looked pretty good... until we stripped the paint and realized how much needed to be replaced. Check out the photos for all the evidence.

Lonnie wanted a traditional flamed 40 Ford and we aimed to please on this one.

Gary Mizar put down the flames and striped em while our painter, Scott filled those flames in and checkered the firewall and air cleaner. Did a great job!

Jason and Scott from Street Rods by Michael did all the metal work and fabrication in house.

This car features a Heidts Hot Rod & Muscle Car Parts super ride front end, Johns Industries, Inc. 9" rear end, tons of Lokar accessories, Street Rods by Michael, Inc chassis, Nu Relics Power Windows, Classic Instruments gauges, Vintage Air, Inc. AC and Heat, Ididit steering column with a LaCarra steering wheel and Raider Wheels on Coker Tire Company Tires.

The paint turned out amazing, big shout out to the custom PPG paint work boys! Nailed it!

Brian Perilloux's 32' 3-Window

This awesome ride started out as a roller, bought at a car show and sent to Street Rods by Michael, Inc to finish it off.

We knew we had to do something a lil different, so this redneck car with a redneck body got a flat paint job, all the way around.

It features an Street Rods by Michael chassis, Pete and Jake's Hot Rod Parts suspension, Johns Industries, Inc. 9" rear end, Coker Tire Company tires on Wheel Vintiques steely wheels with a 350 Chevy motor.

We also put in Vintage Air, Inc. AC and Heat, a Lokar shifter, Ididit steering column, Lokar gas and brake pedals, Walker Radiator and a SPAL Automovie Cooling Fans.

For the paint we went to our good friend, Gary Mizar, who did an amazing job on everything. Check out the drop shadow details in the numbers even. Turned out as good as can be!

Thanks for checking out this weeks ride.

Mike Billingsley 34' Viper

Mike contacted us all the way from the California to help him build his dream 34' Viper. Happy to oblige!

This amazing car features a 4" stretch and pinched nose with a Be-Bop body on a Street Rods by Michael, Inc chassis. Street Rods by Michael also punched the louvers and handled fabrication of the exhaust sytem including cutouts to let er run quiet... or let er run real LOUD, capped off with Flowmaster Mufflers INC. Hushpower mufflers.

We also included a Heidts Hot Rod & Muscle Car Parts independent super ride front end, Wilwood Disc Brakes on all 4 corners, Johns Industries, Inc. 9" Ford rear end, Dietz headlights, Hoosier Racing Tire on Billet Specialties, Inc. rims, with a 347 stroker engine with a phoenix AOD transmission.

Inside featured a dash by billet, Classic Instruments gauges, Ididit steering, B&B Upholstery and a Lokar shifter.

This was a super fun build and we are happy to share it with ya today.
