Installation Kits
Note: A stock Ford wheel will bolt to the top of an ididit column. Ford Style Mustang Steering Columns will not accept Dimmer/Wiper or Cruise added to the column. If using a Borgeson power assisted box on any year Mustang the column may need to be shorter (call for additional information).
1965-'66: The original column has a solid shaft from inside the stock gearbox to the steering wheel. You will need to cut and modify your original shaft (Drawing B).
1967: This year Mustang had two types of stock boxes one was "Long" the other "Short". The "Long box has a one piece shafting from the box to the upper shaft of the steering column. The "Short" box was attached to the column with a Rag Joint. Two separate kits are available for both types.
Turn Signal Wiring: An ididit column will come complete with a Ford turn signal switch. The factory style is included for easy interface to the car.

 

 

1965-66 Ford Style Stock Box: Kit includes 3/4"DD x 3/4"-36 Coupler (A). Original shaft coming out of gearbox shorten and modify (B).
1965-66 Ford Style Rack & Pinion:
3/4DD x 3/4-36 u-joint (E) 18" DD shaft (C). Manual rack add u-joint (E) 3/4"DD x (manufacturers output shaft). Power rack add vibration u-joint (F) 3/4"DD x (manufacturers output shaft). 
1967 Ford Style Long Box: Kit includes 3/4"-36 x 3/4"DD coupler (A).
1967 Ford Style Short Box:
Kit includes 3/4"-36 x 3/4"DD coupler (A) 2-5/16" long DD shafts (C) & 3/4"DD x 3/4"-36 rag joint (D).
1968 Ford Style Manual Stock Box:
Kit includes 3/4"-36 x 3/4"DD coupler (A) 2-5/16" Long DD Shaft (C) & 3/4"DD x 3/4"-36 rag joint (D).
1969 Ford Style Manual Stock Box:
Kit includes 3/4"-36 x 3/4"-36 rag joint (D).
1968-69 Ford Style Rack & Pinion:

Installation Kits
Note: A stock Ford wheel will bolt to the top of an ididit column.
1964-'66: The original column has a solid shaft from inside the gearbox to the steering sheel. This shaft will need to be modified. A new coupler will need to be put in place between the modified shaft and the column.
1966-'69: A rag joint will need to be put between the steering column and the gearbox. This will act as a coupler as well as a vibration dampener.
Turn Signal Wiring: Ford horn systems use two wires and 12 volts of power to control the horn function. ididit uses a ground type system through a relay, this relay is provided with your kit to successfully complete the conversion from the Ford system to the ididit system.

A: Coupler
1965-'66 - (3/4"-36 x 3/4"-DD)
Use the coupler to connect the intermediate shaft to the ididit column
B: Modified Shaft:
The shaft will need to be cut and modified as shown in drawing B.
C: Rag Joint:
1968-'69 -  (3/4"-36 x 3/4"-36)
A vibration reducer used between your intermediate shaft and gearbox.
