1953-'56 Ford Half Ton
ididit's steering column for this application includes the
turn signal plug and the horn relay to successfully convert the
ididit wiring to your Ford wiring. Installation will require a
swinger style column drop at the dash, a floor mount and a
u-joint between the column and the gearbox. Modification of the
intermediate shaft is required when using the original box.

1965-'72 Ford Half Ton
The column will have a 3/4"-36 lower shaft. The
female side of the plug found on ididit's column is included. An
under dash mount is welded to the column to match the bolt
pattern of the original. A new rag joint is required between the
column and the gearbox.
Note: The Bendix box
was frequently interchanged with the Saginaw box as a
replacement. This will require a different length column.

The column will have a 3/4"-36 lower shaft. The

Individual Kit
Components
A: U-Joint
- A u-joint is necessary to connect the intermediate shaft and
the column on 1953-56 trucks.
B: Modified Shaft - When using the original box in a
1953-'56 Ford truck the shaft will need to be modified as shown
in Drawing B.
C: Intermediate Shaft: - (3/4"DD x 36 Inches) This
mild steel shaft is simply cut to length and installed in a rag
joint, coupler or u-joint and locked in position with set
screws. This shaft allows a safe and inexpensive way to replace
your intermediate shaft. (May be required if using a rack &
pinion in a 1953-'56 Ford Truck).
D: Rag Joint -vibration reducer used between ididit column and
gear box. (3/4"-36 x 3/4-36) required for 1965-'79 Ford
trucks.
1965-'77 Ford Style A: 3/4"DD x 3/4"-36 Rag
